OG&E Energy Corp. has a strong commitment to protecting the environment, and to that end, they have created the “Green Team.” This team works to raise public awareness of many environmental issues with programs such as “Good Things Come from Trees” with the Department of Agriculture, the Clean Air Alert program with the D.E.Q., and sponsorship of D.E.Q.’s hazardous waste collection. They hold an Open House and Environmental Fair at their Muskogee Generating Station, and they support the Connor’s State College Environmental Academy. They helped sponsor City Shine ‘99—an OKC litter pick-up campaign--and Cool Communities--a tree-planting campaign, plus they support environmental education in Oklahoma schools.
