The Kerr Center Producer Grant Program encourages
Oklahoma farmers and ranchers to adopt sustainable practices on their
land. To achieve “sustainable” status, farmers and ranchers must be
environmentally responsible and protect natural resources such as soil
and water. They must also conserve energy and enhance wildlife
habitats. Farmers and ranchers who propose innovative projects can
receive cash incentives to help them implement those projects. Farmers’
projects have established buffer zones around ponds and streams,
managed weeds without chemicals, and increased wildlife habitats.
The Kerr Center Producer Grant Program encourages farmers and
ranchers to act as environmental stewards, and when projects are
successful, others are encouraged to try similar projects on their own
land. THE KERR CENTER PRODUCER GRANT PROGRAM IS GOOD NEWS FOR OKLAHOMA’S ENVIRONMENT!
