When there’s a community project in Wynnewood, the Wynnewood Junior
Main Street group will always be there to help. Whether it’s a “Trash
Off Day” or time to decorate downtown for a fall festival, Junior Main
Streeters turn out in droves, often bringing as many as 80 to 100
volunteers to a project. They have helped renovate buildings downtown,
learning history and gaining pride in their community. When they
organized the Hall of Trees, they cleaned out an unused office building
and gathered decorated Christmas trees from local donors. They arranged
and manned the display, which helped to raise funds for the Angel Tree
program. The Wynnewood Junior Main Streeters’ involvement in city
events helps them know that they are an important part of the
community... AND THAT’S VERY GOOD NEWS FOR OKLAHOMA’S ENVIRONMENT!
