The Youth Volunteer Corps of Tulsa organizes many
different programs during the year. Volunteers ranging in age from 6 to
18 take part in several events such as Paint the Town, an activity that
paints over graffiti on various walls and buildings throughout Tulsa
and other litter clean-up events.
As part of Operation Clean Sweep last April 15th, Youth
Volunteer Corps asked for the worst litter site in Tulsa...and they got
it. The 500-acre site just east of the OSU-Tulsa Campus had been an
eyesore for decades. The 200 YVC volunteers started work early in the
morning, and they didn’t stop until every piece of trash had been
picked up. Their 70-ton haul included old furniture, tires, an
abandoned boat, and old televisions. The tireless efforts of the YOUTH VOLUNTEER CORPS OF TULSA IS GOOD NEWS FOR OKLAHOMA’S ENVIRONMENT!
