OKC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION – MARGARET ANNIS BOYS TRUST - Pop. More than 60,000
A lasting legacy of beauty for the public lands in Oklahoma County is
the living proof of accomplishment for the Oklahoma City Community
Foundation’s Margaret Annis Boys Trust. The tenth anniversary of the
program shows over one million dollars distributed for more than 100
worthy projects and a total value estimated to be three times that
amount.
Beneficiary organizations are required to have a vested
interest in the project, be able to contribute cash and materials, and
provide on-going maintenance.
The improvements include city gateways, parks, medians, neighborhood entries, street- and highwayscapes, and special gardens.
The
program has sparked numerous collaborations among volunteer groups,
schools, city and county governments, and other community
organizations. A judge summed it up as “A worthy organization which
helps the metro communities improve their attractiveness and quality of
life.”
