A little over a year ago, the Oklahoma Gazette
recognized the need for steady environmental coverage, so it assigned
one of its staff writers this area as a regular beat. It is believed
that it may be the only Oklahoma newspaper with a reporter dedicated to
covering all aspects of environmental issues.
Its readers have been the
beneficiaries of informed and balanced coverage on a diverse range of
topics from the use of native plants and beautification and recycling
projects to wind power, the proposed transportation of nuclear waste
through Oklahoma, and global warming.
