A little earlier, we honored the exciting efforts by
Staples to recycle ink jet cartridges and., in the process, generate
cash for education in Oklahoma. The genius behind that project is
Edmond's Joe Lada, a district manager for Staples.
He wrote his first thoughts about the idea less than 14 months ago. By
July, with twenty-five thousand dollars already generated in Oklahoma,
Staples was inspired to take the program nationwide with a goal of
raising five million dollars in just 90 days.
Joe Lada's efforts have rapidly grown into a premier national
program directed at recycling the 243 million ink jet cartridges
discarded each year while generating much-appreciated funds.
We're very impressed with the Staples' Recycle for Education program
and we're proud to add that Joe Lada is good news for landfills and
students in Oklahoma.
