In Tulsa, The Metropolitan Environmental Trust - The
Met - is helping consumers learn their "P's" and "R's". We're already
familiar with the "R's" - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - and now, through
innovative programs, we're learning the "P's" - Prevent and Pre-cycle.
Shoppers at the Wild Oats Market in Tulsa now have more than
20 different informational "shelf talker" cards guiding them on
environmentally sound products and packaging. The Met also placed a
brochure rack in the store with five helpful subjects, the Met staff
has conducted insightful shopping tours, and it presents helpful booths
at festivals and other large events.
The
program has been hailed as "terrific community outreach" by our judges
who add that it definitely should be modeled everywhere. For going a
vital letter beyond the "P's" and "Q's", The Met is good news for
shoppers in Oklahoma.
