Two years ago, we honored landscape architect Brian
Dougherty for Daffodil Hill Gardens and Gallery, his stunning
restoration of a decayed home in Bethany. Tonight we honor him once
more, this time for his outstanding contributions in education and
community services.
Along with directing the landscaping, horticulture and
volunteer activities at The Children's Center in Bethany, Brian was
instrumental in establishing a farmer's market and a unique
horticulture therapy program for the children. He also has collaborated
with more than 100 schools in Oklahoma County on their landscaping
projects and has served in various capacities for numerous public
concerns and organizations.
The
judges said he'd be a treasure in any community, highly valued for his
consistent and loving volunteer spirit. For teaching by example what it
means to love your neighbor, Brian Dougherty tirelessly designs good
news for the children and landscape of Oklahoma.
