Accepting award is a Representative from the City of Miami

As the city of Miami’s municipal swimming pool began its eighth decade as the state’s largest public pool, the facility was decaying and seeping water. The city embarked on a big series of improvements at a cost of $500,000, assuring the public that the 2005 swim season would not be missed.
The upgrades included a new pool lining, fencing, decking, chairs, three slides for three age levels, a multi-play water structure, new bathhouses, a new adult rest area with TV, lockers and a water misting system and more with additional improvements already planned.
The result is what our judges called a lovely facility and a focal point for civic pride. We salute the City of Miami for its impressive restoration project that is a big splash of good news for Oklahoma.
