2006 - Media Award - Print Media - The Greater Tulsa Reporter
“Getting the word out” is a key element for success of most beautification projects. Throughout much of the Tulsa area, a true ally has been helping such causes for many years by splashing feature coverage of news and events on its newspaper pages. The Greater Tulsa Reporter is a great supporter of the types of activities we are saluting tonight.
With a personal mission to promote a more vibrant and attractive Tulsa, publishers Forrest and Sharon Cameron makes sure their editorial coverage reflects their aims. It’s hard to find a monthly issue that doesn’t feature coverage of beautification projects, the Tulsa River Parks, downtown and riverfront development efforts and other planned improvements.
Our judges were impressed with the magnitude and the impact the six regional monthly editions of the free, home-delivered newspaper have on beautification efforts around Tulsa. “What a wonderful asset!” one said.
For excellence in informing citizens in its coverage areas of beautification activities and for inspiring them to support these efforts, Greater Tulsa Reporter, we salute you!
