Nonprofit Organization Award (annual less more than $100,000) for Education & Promotion - The Tree Bank Foundation, Oklahoma City
Coordinated
by The Tree Bank Foundation in Oklahoma City, and funded through a host
of partners, “Standing Tall – Storm Damage & Your Tree” is not only
a straightforward, helpful guidebook, it also is an information-rich
website created by Cross Timbers Forestry.
The
guidebook and website help homeowners assess their storm-damaged trees,
learn how to decide if professional help is needed, and who to contact
for more help. Previously, this collection of information had not been
available.
One
of our judges noted that although the examples of storm damage to trees
are from Oklahoma, the guidebook and website are wonderful resources
for people in every state. “I’m impressed with the clear and direct
approach taken by creators and the widespread accessibility of the
information,” said another.
For
your excellence in providing such helpful information, and for
inspiring people everywhere to replant after damaging storms, Tree Bank
Foundation, tonight we salute you!
