The three-hour “Go-Green” recycling event had a long line of cars, waiting and loaded with various recyclables and paper to shred, even before t
he vendors were ready to collect it all. Each major material category generated revenues that were donated to a specific community nonprofit cause. But “Go-Green Day” was just a part of the Ardmore Beautification Council’s “Go-Green Month” of collecting unwanted appliances from
residents at no charge. With the help of paid newspaper and radio ads, the calls came in to the ABC offices, and a total of 37 appliances weighing three tons were picked up. Our judges commented on the impressive results and the huge impact the “Go-Green” projects had on Ardmore, adding that it was an outcome of great planning. This year’s non-profit Environmental Excellence award is ready to be collected by the Ardmore Beautification Council!
