Oklahoma University President David Boren once again demonstrated his amazing foresight as he announced a partnership with OGandE that will make the OU campus completely wind-powered within five years.  Pardon the pun, but this will happen “sooner” at OU than any other major American university. This agreement between the university and OGandE will be one of the largest renewable energy agreements by a public university in the nation.  OU also plans to keep expanding its fleet of natural gas vehicles.  The move to wind power caps more than a decade of visionary leadership by President Boren at OU.  He has brought acclaim to the university, its students, its alumni and the citizens of Oklahoma.  As his inspiration gives birth to a new generation of alternative energy supporters, tonight we’re all honored to give the Visionary Leadership Award to David L. Boren!
