Will discuss and answer your questions about the emerging partnerships of Oklahoma county
commissioners and community volunteers who resolve to put the brakes on the
very ugly practice of illegal dumping.

Make the connection between beautification efforts and community economic viability. The work you
do is incredibly important and has a real dollar and cents value to your community.
Dana Shadid – Executive Director, Oklahoma Community Institute
Will discuss and answer your questions about how and why beautification, historic preservation, litter
abatement campaigns, landscaping and tree-planting are important elements adding to the quality of
life in your community and how that relates to your community’s life-span.

3:00pm – "How to Ask For (and get) The Money You Need"

Will discuss and answer your questions about
obtaining federal enhancement funds through ODOT. You will hear the process,
illustrated by success stories from Oklahoma towns.
Ray Murphy – Director, Oklahoma Center for Rural Development, Tahlequah
Will discuss and answer questions concerning funding opportunities for small communities in
Oklahoma and the Center’s new "Virtual Community" website and how it can help you draw new resources to your community.
