The mission of Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is to encourage and facilitate grassroots efforts that will improve the aesthetic, environmental and sustainable quality of life in Oklahoma.

Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB) is building a network of affiliate organizations across the state, consisting of cities, counties, communities, nonprofit organizations, committees that will work with us in achieving this mission.
To become a KOB affiliate, follow the process outlined below - a series of simple steps

AFFILIATE APPLICATION PROCESS

Complete and submit the online Affiliate Application Form to establish your organization as a provisional KOB Affiliate. Applicants will receive notification from KOB within 10 business days, confirming provisional status which is the go-ahead signal to begin completing the following 7 steps and submitting the information called for.  Organizations can take as long as 90 days to complete the steps and may call upon KOB staff to help with any part of the process.

STEP ONE:  Review the "Get Organized" section of the Community Improvement Guide.

STEP TWO:  Determine your organization's structure and (if applicable) board membership.

STEP THREE:  Prepare your organization's mission statement.

STEP FOUR:  Prepare your bylaws or the guidelines or ordinance or resolution that created your organization.

STEP FIVE:  Determine the top 5 - 10 needs of your community or service area (your wish list).

STEP SIX:  Prioritize the projects you want to accomplish during your first affiliate year.

STEP SEVEN:  Establish funding sources (may be in-kind) and a budget.

When all steps have been completed and your submitted information approved, your organization will move to active AFFILIATE status. Upon payment of the annual fee, you become eligible for all Affiliate benefits.

Elective orientation sessions will be held quarterly (based on the need) in OKC for no more than two people from each organization.  These sessions are designed to teach you how to make the best use of all online collaborative tools the message boards and Affiliate Forums.    For those affiliates who elect to take the free 3-page website, there will be a quick course on how to use the content management system that will allow you to keep your website continually updated.
