Education & PromotionXEROX T.R.E.E. TEAM - OKCProtection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers and neighbors is a priority at the XEROX manufacturing site in Oklahoma City. Toward that end, a voluntary employee group was established, calling itself the T-R-E-E team. T-R-E-E stands for Trash Reduction Enabling and Executing - and the team's mission is to provide environmental leadership and education to Xerox employees and the community. And they do so with a vengeance. This relatively small core group of a dozen dedicated Xerox employees promotes recycling and reuse within the plant, encourages personal environmental responsibility through a wide variety of creative methods and impacts our future environment by taking its message to community schools. Led by Xerox environmental engineers, the diversity of the team in both occupation and background produces unique ideas and enables the team to continue its positive influence. XEROX T.R.E.E. TEAM IS "DIGITALLY" GOOD NEWS FOR OKLAHOMA'S ENVIRONMENT! Environmental ImprovementWASTE MANAGEMENT OF OKCBefore Waste Management of Oklahoma purchased the Southern Plains Landfill near Alex, the facility was riddled with environmental hazards, beset by complaining citizens and was an eyesore to the surrounding communities. However, things quickly changed when Jim Meinholz and his staff from Waste Management took control of the situation. They quickly addressed the problem of wind-blown paper by using daily cover to reduce the unsightly and pollution-causing debris by 99%. To improve the aesthetic appearance of the problem facility and to reduce soil erosion, cedar trees were brought in, grasses and other vegetation were planted and a sedimentation pond was constructed. Significant positive changes at the landfill have changed an eyesore into a source of pride in southwestern Oklahoma. NEAR ALEX WASTE MANAGEMENT IS GOOD NEWS FOR OKLAHOMA'S ENVIRONMENT!
