Business AwardsEducation and PromotionBANCFIRST IN ARDMORE
We think it was an understatement when the judges called Ardmore’s EarthFirst Expo “ambitious, well organized and impressive.” A key player in this April’s multifaceted event was BancFirst who not only supplied the plaza location for the EarthFirst Expo, but also provided funding, leadership and general manpower, creative ideas and welcomed suggestions.
The Ardmore Beautification Council stages a half-dozen springtime events, but with more than 45 exhibitors drawing over eleven-hundred visitors, the EarthFirst Expo is, by far, the largest. A wide array of ecologically oriented items, including 300 crape myrtle shrubs, bath products, mulch, and informational brochures, were available at the litter-free Expo, but some folks also came for the extensive recycling opportunities, hourly door prizes and entertainment.
For successfully covering so many aspects of environmental care, ARDMORE’S BANCFIRST AND EARTHFIRST ARE GOOD NEWS FOR PUTTING THE ENVIRONMENT FIRST IN OKLAHOMA! Environmental ImprovementEASTMAN NATIONAL BANK IN NEWKIRK
“Lucky Newkirk!” the judges said of the extensive involvement by Eastman National Bank in that town’s ongoing clean-up efforts. Along with mentoring and sponsoring the Newkirk Junior Main Street program of monthly downtown clean-ups and annual community-wide clean-ups, the bank also provides labor, advertising, cash prizes and pizza for the volunteers.
Eastman Bank’s Jana Shafer works tirelessly to keep the community litter free while assisting the Junior Main Street program students, presenting awards at assemblies and serving as a role model with her own good deeds
For being an outstanding corporate citizen by proudly serving Newkirk in so many helpful ways, WE CAN BANK ON EASTMAN NATIONAL AS GOOD NEWS FOR THE BUSINESS STEWARDSHIP OF THE ENVIRONMENT IN OKLAHOMA! Beautification & LandscapingDAFFODIL HILL GARDENS & GALLERY IN BETHANY
Something stunning has bloomed over the past two years in the shadow of tall trees in Bethany’s business district. What had been a dilapidated stucco bungalow with grounds dotted only by the trees, now has been lovingly and painstakingly converted to an art gallery and retail garden specialty business beautifully surrounded by gardens, a fountain, benches, iron fencing and special landscape touches.
The former eyesore now is the remarkable Daffodil Hill Gardens & Gallery, a desired destination in Bethany for visitors and small groups, including wedding parties. The wizards behind the transformation are Brian and Marileigh Dougherty who bought the property, designed the concept and worked to bring it to life.
For seeing and seeding beauty in the midst of seediness, and artfully transforming it into an inspiring jewel, DAFFODIL HILL GARDENS AND GALLERY IS GOOD NEWS FOR DREAMERS, ARTISTS AND GARDENERS IN OKLAHOMA! |
