Donna Parson, of Pride In McAlester, is being honored in the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful “Volunteer Spotlight” during April.
Donna is responsible for helping Pride In McAlester take what was thought to be a one time Trash to Treasure event, into a year round fundraiser. She has given countless hours of her time to ensure that this Pride In McAlester program is a success. Not only does Donna seek out donations from the community, she also gives countless hours of her time, after work, to process the donations. She has always made sure that the doors open regardless of rain or snow. Her dedication to this project and Pride In McAlester was the driving force behind her being named as the Volunteer of the Year for the organization.
The Trash to Treasure store is located at 3rd and Wyandotte and is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
