Environmental Excellence Awards Spotlight!

Every day across Oklahoma, communities are coming together to accomplish great things. With very little resources but often a lot of effort these projects have a direct impact on our state. For 25 years Keep Oklahoma Beautiful has been recognizing these great works but it is up to you to make sure we know about them. Have a project that made a difference? An initiative that made an impact? Have you seen something in your community that needs to be recognized? We want to know about it! Your efforts are an inspiration to us all. http://bit.ly/EECNom

The nomination process takes moments and we want to celebrate to you.

Each year we are in awe by the nominations we receive. Take the winners of the 2014 Tribal Government Programs Award, the Choctaw Nation.

During the festival several volunteers collected nearly 4 tons of material! Their Going Green Team saw an opportunity with the annual Labor Day Festival to make a difference in the community. They collected aluminum, bottles, cardboard, food waste and compostable food containers. The result? They collected 7580 pounds (nearly 4 tons!) of material that can be reused again. And again!

Does this sound like a group or organization you know? They could be this year’s winner. We have categories (Click Here!) to fit projects big and small, private businesses and community organizations and everything in between. Nominations are open until August 10th.
