Frank Gierhart - Volunteer Sportlight - September 2010

Frank Gierhart, of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association, is being honored in the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful “Volunteer Spotlight” during September.

Frank is described as a “dream volunteer” by those who have had the honor of working with him. This past year, Frank has been instrumental in orchestrating the restoration of the historic Rock Creek Bridge and the area surrounding it on an old alignment of Route 66 in Sapulpa. “He always goes above and beyond anything that is asked of him,” commented OK Route 66 Association Executive Director Marilyn Emde. “He has been instrumental in working with our association.”

Aside from his time spent volunteering with the Oklahoma Route 66 Association, Frank can be found helping the Sapulpa Historical Society, Sapulpa Main Street, Sapulpa Chamber and the Sapulpa Pride Committee.

Would you like to nominate someone from your organization? All we need is a brief description of the nominee’s work (250 words or less) and at least one head and shoulders photograph. Nominations will be accepted only online and that process can start by clicking here.

Truck vserus car, truck wins. You are right that when someone is injured by a truck, especially an 18 wheeler, they need to go to a lawyer who has knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations. It can have a major impact on their case.

Freaky; I didn't know such suteatts were on the books anywhere! I thought that went out with the Sedition Act stuff, but that, of course, was at the Federal level, and this is at the state level. I'd feel like a walking bullseye! Or more of one, since my existing extra-state activities are enough to get me locked up probably.

Take your average wkleey pay. Multiply that by .70and multiply THAT by 275. That's how much you get, for the total loss of a leg.275 weeks for loss of an entire leg, for 70% of the average wkleey wage, in Oklahoma. Keep in mind, that's not pain and suffering , and any weeks that you receive pay PRIOR to the settlement, get subtracted from that 275 week figure.
