Oklahomans Unite to End Litter Through State Wide Projects and Grants
Great American Cleanup™ Oklahoma registration now open
An estimated 60,000 Oklahomans across the state will join millions nationwide to participate in the Great American Cleanup™ (GAC) beginning March 1, 2016 through May 31, 2016. This national program of Keep America Beautiful is locally sponsored and endorsed by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, OGE Energy Corp.,Warren CAT, and P&K Equipment and coordinated by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB).
Business, groups, or organizations wishing to participate in the GAC in Oklahoma must register through KOB. In doing so, groups will receive clean up supplies, program materials, and grant opportunities. Safety vests and work gloves donated by Warren CAT and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority are in limited supply and will be given to registered groups - first come, first served!
The single, largest one-day cleanup event during the GAC in Oklahoma is the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s “Trash-OFF.” This year, the ODOT Trash-OFF is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2016. Those wishing to participate in this event specifically must register for the GAC in Oklahoma.
Registered groups have the opportunity to apply for OGE Cash Grants ranging from $200.00 - $300.00 to help kick-start GAC activities. The deadline for these grants is February 12, 2016.
Groups and organizations who have registered for the Great American Cleanup™ (GAC) in Oklahoma are eligible to enter an essay contest to win lawn and garden equipment donated by local company, P&K Equipment. The deadline for this opportunity is February 22, 2016.
