KOB Travels the State to Deliver Paint!

The last week of August your friends at KOB traveled all over the state to deliver paint to our Fresh Paint Days participants. Fresh Paint Days is designed to encourage volunteers to seek out unsightly community structures and renovate them with the creative use of resources. With the help of our friends at HIS Coatings and Public Service Company of Oklahoma we were able to provide paint and supplies to 34 different projects.

These groups are competing for a "Best Visual Impact" award in a KOB social media contest called "Communities Primed for Change." Finalists will be chosen based on their before and after results, but winners will not be announced until KOB's annual Environmental Excellence Awards Celebration on Nov. 19.

KOB's Projects Coordinator Jordan Scott said her favorite part of delivering paint was getting to meet all of the people from the communities we work with.

"Despite the strange looks I got driving a giant box truck, it was great to finally put names with faces," said Jordan. "It was nice to meet the hard working individuals that want to make an impact on their communities."

As we anxiously await the "after" photos, the groups have 30 days to paint their projects and turn in the final product for the public to vote. Stay tuned to our website and social media sites for contest details.
