Membership - Help Keep Oklahoma Beautiful

Butterfly Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is a statewide nonprofit organization with a long and proud history of accomplishment. Founded in 1965, KOB has undergone a number of incarnations, changing with the times while always working to achieve its mission to preserve, beautify and enhance Oklahoma's environment.

Eggs Today's KOB operates on a modest budget funded by membership dues, donations and a small contract with the Oklahoma Department of Enviromental Quality. KOB's voluntary board of directors has designed a strategy which targets the grassroots efforts of Oklahomans who are involved with environmental improvement. The focus of all activities is to encourage, promote and assist these groups and individuals and to hold them up as examples for others.

KOB’s public education and awareness campaign is anchored by a series of widely distributed public service print ads which use humor to emphasize environmental messages. A comprehensive website, community visits by the KOB board and regional recognition of effective programs round out the effort.

The culmination of each year’s work is KOB’s annual Summer Environmental Conference and prestigious statewide awards competition. Recent enhancements and expansions such as the diverse “Enviro-Show-and-TellExpo” are making this the state’s most affordable environmental education event.

As a state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, KOB organizes the annual Great American Cleanup in Oklahoma and provides materials and tools for communities and volunteers. KOB members receive reduced rates to all KOB events. 		Hobart Beatification Commission
