Patty Daniel - Volunteer Spotlight - March 2010

Patty Daniel, of Team Up to Clean Up, is being honored in the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful “Volunteer Spotlight” during March.

Motorists driving along Hwy 9 near Lake Eufaula and Longview in the past few years have most likely seen an energetic lady picking up litter on the roadside. Disgusted by the accumulation of trash in this scenic area, Patty decided it was up to her to beautify the area. From this, she initiated the local anti-litter and recycling group Team Up to Clean Up.

Patty’s individual efforts have now been multiplied by more than 250 volunteers, businesses and government agencies working together in 4 annual events to remove litter and raise awareness of the environment. In 2009, Team Up to Clean Up removed and recycled nearly 20 tons of litter and debris.

Fellow volunteer Pam Husky describes Patty as “a dynamo. She visits schools, city council meetings, businesses and neighborhoods to educate and influence the community. We appreciate Patty’s energy, intelligence, determination and time.”

Would you like to nominate someone from your organization? All we need is a brief description of the nominee’s work (250 words or less) and at least one head and shoulders photograph. Nominations will be accepted only online and that process can start by clicking here.

Well the way I see it the botwunher should get a medal for preventing a burglary. In my opinion it should not matter who stops a criminal and with what as long he is stopped somehow. Once criminals realize that they are nowhere save crime will go down.

i have always been told as a rule you olsuhd turn off the ac before you switch the car off.this helps by not putting a lot of strain on your ac comp.when starting the engine.also turn the key on when cranking until it quits dingging so the computer can run a quick check of the electrical system before you start the engine it only take like three seconds to run its check
