Dallas, Texas - Keep America Beautiful (KAB) recognized more than 80 individuals or organizations at KAB’s national conference in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, January 17. Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB) was recognized as an Outstanding Affiliate at the Diamond Level.
Four KOB affiliates, OKC Beautiful and Ardmore Beautiful were recognized as Outstanding Affiliates, and Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OKTPK) were recognized with State Agency Partner Awards. The awards recognize the value state affiliates bring to joint partnership projects and how vital these relationships are to KOB’s mission.
“Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is proud for our affiliates to receive this national recognition for their ongoing efforts in their Oklahoma communities,” Jeanette Nance, Executive Director, KOB said. “We are extremely thankful for our sponsoring state agencies that were recognized for their faithful efforts in partnership to help all of us across the state to do beautiful things.”
The relationships KOB has with ODOT and OKTPK allow programs such as the Great American Cleanup and Fresh Paint Days to benefit all 77 counties in Oklahoma year after year.
“It is an extreme honor for the partnership between our agency and Keep Oklahoma Beautiful to be recognized at the national level,” Mike Patterson, Executive Director, ODOT said. “Through the years, our work together has put the spotlight on anti-litter initiatives and brought communities and schools together for cleanup programs. We look forward to continuing this vital work with KOB in the years to come to preserve and enhance Oklahoma's natural beauty."
Registration and cash and equipment grant applications are open on the KOB website for those organizations wishing to participate in the Great American Cleanup in Oklahoma beginning in March through the end of May. For more information about KOB programs visit www.keepoklahomabeautiful.com
