Celebrate 100 Years of Route 66 with Trees!

Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is planting Centennial Groves along the Mother Road. Apply to receive trees, supplies, and support for a lasting beautification project in your community. 


What are Centennial Groves?

Grant Program Overview

Grant Value: Approximately $2,500
What’s Included:

  • Five (5) Caddo Sugar Maple Trees
  • Tree staking poles and mulch
  • Volunteer training
  • A custom metal sign recognizing sponsors
  • Coordination with local nurseries and suppliers to ensure all funds support your community

About the Trees

Caddo Sugar Maples are native to southwestern Oklahoma and known for their resilience, drought tolerance, and vibrant orange and red fall color. They’re perfect for tough Oklahoma soil and unpredictable weather — and they grow into gorgeous shade trees that last for generations.

Grant Recipient Responsibilities

To ensure long-term success, recipients must:

  • Recruit volunteers for planting, watering, and maintenance

  • Submit a 3-year maintenance plan

  • Secure permission from the property owner (city, business, or private)

  • Coordinate utility marking and ensure tree location clears powerlines

  • Pick up trees and supplies, and attend a training session at your local nursery

  • Complete a brief report detailing the tree planting event and its impact

Fall Planting Timeline

  • Applications Open: July 1 – September 1, 2025
  • Recipients Notified: September 15, 2025
  • Tree Planting: October 2025
  • Final Report Due: November 30, 2025

Spring planting dates are TBD. Feel free to apply for a spring planting anyway!
