Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is partnering with organizations across the state to safely gather and dispose of hazardous waste. Apply for a grant to host a drop-off event for tires, hazardous household chemicals, paint, pills, electronics, paper-shredding, and more.

What is a Hazardous Waste Drop-Off?

Grant Value: Approximately $2,500+
What's Included:
- Help scheduling vendors to recycle waste
- The cost of those vendors
- A stipend for event signage
Items You Can Collect for Recycling*:
- Cardboard
- Batteries (Car & Home)
- Plastic shopping bags
- Tires
- Ammo
- Pharmaceuticals
- Sharps/Needles
- Electronics
- Paper Shredding
- Fire Extinguishers
- Paint (water-based)
- Household hazardous waste (pesticides, used engine oil, weed killer, etc.)
*You can choose to collect some or all of the items on the list. Keep Oklahoma Beautiful will do our best to accommodate all recycling requests, but at this time, some items are limited to certain areas.
Grant Recipient Responsibilities
- Recruit volunteers to staff the event
- Secure a location for the event
- Submit a brief description of how you plant to promote the event
- Complete a brief report detailing the items gathered during the event

- Applications Open: July 1, 2025 - July 31, 2026
- Recipients Notified: Ongoing
- Purge & Protect Events: Ongoing
- Final Report Due: Within 30 days of waste collection event
