What You Receive

Awarded projects receive:

  • Recycled outdoor latex paint in your choice of available colors - Clay, Green, Brown, or Tan - based on your project's square footage
  • A supply stipend to help cover the cost of brushes, rollers, tape, and other materials
    • $200 for standard applicants
    • $300 for KOB affiliates

Paint quantity is based on the square footage you submit and is not guaranteed to cover every project in full. Plan accordingly and have a backup supply on hand. Additional recycled paint is available for purchase from HIS Paint Manufacturing Company at a special rate through KOB for any projects that are not 100% covered by the grant funds.

Who Can Apply

Paint Oklahoma Beautiful is open to anyone with permission to paint a community structure that is open and accessible to the general public. Good candidates include:

  • Park benches, picnic tables, and outdoor furniture
  • Historic buildings and Main Street facades
  • Community centers, municipal buildings, and fairground structures
  • Public restrooms, shelters, and covered areas
  • Fences around public spaces like cemeteries or parks

Projects are completed by a mix of volunteers, government employees, community organizations, and contracted painters - whatever works best for your community.

Not sure if your project qualifies? Email us at programs@keepok.org and we'll help you figure it out.

Before You Apply

  • Measure Your Surface Area

You'll need the paintable surface area in square feet. Measure the height and width of each wall face or surface to be painted and add them together. Do not subtract for doors or windows.

  • Get a Signed Permission Form

You must upload a signed Permission to Paint form from the property owner, even if you own the structure. Download the form using the link below.

  • Gather Your Photos

Upload at least one photo showing the current condition of the structure with your application.

  • Prepare Your Surface

Recycled latex paint will not adhere to dirty, flaking, or unprepared surfaces - especially metal. Clean and prepare all surfaces before your paint is delivered. Projects that are not properly prepared may not be able to use their awarded paint in time for their report and will risk losing eligibility for future grants.
