Keep Route 66 Beautiful is a two-year intensive initiative focusing on Oklahoma's 400+ miles of roadways and communities. This initiative is an extension of the Great American Cleanup, which includes all 77 counties. Unlike the Great American Cleanup, which runs from March 1 through May 31 annually, Keep Route 66 Beautiful will run year-round through December 31, 2026. We aim to clean and beautify every community along the Route to make the visitor, tourism, and community experience clean and green for the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road in 2026.
